What is New in the Group?

September the 18th – The OMNIPOL Group and it’s daughter company Aircraft Industries are participating in the Africa Aerospace and Defense EXPO in South Africa from  the 18th to the 22nd of September. Both professionals and the general public will be presented with a comprehensive portfolio of Omnipol Group products. The main focus, being on the turboprop, all-metal high-wing arcraft L 410 NG. The aircraft is available for visitors to see both at the Omnipol Stand and also at the exhibition airport.

16th August 2024 – With the support of specialists from the Czech company AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE, OMNIPOL delivered the first six L-39NG training jets to the Air Force of Vietnam.

After the tragic accident in Brazil, the expedition was slowly preparing to go home. They had a few last performances left in the capital of Uruguay – Montevideo, then they were heading to Prague.

August 1, 2024. Two L 410 UVP-E20 aircraft from, our Czech daughter company Aircraft Industries, in the MPA version are heading to Poland, where they will fly in the colors of the Polish Border Guard.

There was a tragic accident in São Paulo in which the experienced pilot of the Z 226 Trainer Josef Krejza died. He misjudged the height, the pressure conditions betrayed him, and therefore he crashed while performing one of the acrobatic elements.

Although the first leg of the trip went smoothly, the expedition ran into trouble after arriving in Buenos Aires. We were running out of money, didn't get visas and was also troubled by floods.

After the successful crossing of the Cordillera, the delegation continued to Chile and Argentina. In addition to almost daily performances, where they won points in the eyes of fans and important guests, they took away a lot of good memories from both countries.

Crossing the Cordillera - in South America called the Andes - was not easy. As the crew succeeded, the pilots became the first Czechoslovaks to conquer this mountain range on their way from Argentina to Chile.

How did the whole journey begin? Everything started with an accepted invitation to an important air show in Buenos Aires, scheduled for the end of 1958. The fair was to become the gateway for the Czechoslovak aviation industry trying to expand into new, exotic markets, which South America undoubtedly was at that time. OMNIPOL was supposed to present L-40, L-60 and Z-226 aircraft. They were chosen because they had already proven their quality with both domestic and foreign customers, and it was expected that they would shine at the exhibition and attract more buyers.

Experience a legendary adventure in South America! In the 1950s, under the leadership of the company Foreign Trade Enterprise (FTE) OMNIPOL, a famous trip across Latin America took place, which has had no parallel before or since. During this expedition, the pride of the Czechoslovak aviation industry was presented to the local audience. Even after many decades, it is a unique event that raised awareness of our country and capabilities in faraway places. During it’s six-month duration, there was no shortage of interesting meetings, but also nerve-wracking situations both on the ground and in the air, including dramatic flights over the Cordilleras and a tragic crash in São Paulo that claimed the life of one of the pilots.

June 13, 2024 – The L 410 NG, manufactured in our Czech daughter company Aircraft Industries has a new customer. One aircraft designed in the passenger version, with preparation for an ambulance version, is heading to Chile.

The 17th of April 2024. The L-29 Delfín and the L 410. These two legends of Czech aviation, have both just celebrated significant anniversaries since their first flights. The wings of the L-29 Delfín lifted off the ground,60 years ago on the 5th of April 1959.The L410 first test flight took place 50 years ago on the 16th of April 1969.
