OMNIPOL delivered the first six L-39NG training jets to the Air Force of Vietnam
16th August 2024 – With the support of specialists from the Czech company AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE, OMNIPOL delivered the first six L-39NG training jets to the Air Force of Vietnam.

The SAT (Site Acceptance Test) was successfully completed in Vietnam, for this first customer for the L-39NG aircraft. Six L-39NG’s successfully passed the final acceptance tests. During the tests the aircraft were completely reassembled, all of their functions were verified including test flight by the factory test pilot.


The entire project is proceeding according to the agreed schedule, and both parties are cooperating intensively on it.


The aircraft will serve as a training platform for training Vietnamese fighter pilots. "We are proud that, six of these machines, the latest version of the legendary Czech L-39 training jet, are already in operation with their first customer. This is an important milestone for OMNIPOL and AERO Vodochody," says Jiří Podpěra, President of OMNIPOL.


The customer will also receive, a comprehensive set of, theoretical and practical training, which includes, for example, a simulation training system and manuals for pilots and mechanics.


Approximately 400 supplier companies are involved in the production of the L-39NG, with about 65% of the suppliers coming from the Czech Republic.


The L-39NG training jet, combines modern avionics systems, with a very efficient jet engine, which provides excellent flight characteristics. The L-39NG, currently allows for both Western and Eastern configurations and it meets, all of the conditions for, comprehensive and cost-effective training of future fourth – and fifth-generation aircraft pilots.
