The modern training aircraft will take the name L-39 Skyfox
The Czech aircraft manufacturer Aero Vodochody, in which OMNIPOL has a minority stake, has been producing the L-39 Skyfox in series production since 2023. It has already acquired a number of customers, and LOM Prague and its Aviation Training Center will also use the aircraft.
OMNIPOL also delivered six aircraft to Vietnam this year, where they underwent final acceptance by the Vietnamese Air Force, including complete assembly, functional verification and a flight by an AeroVodochody test pilot.
Currently, approximately 600 subcontractors are involved in the aircraft production process, with 400 of them coming from the Czech Republic. At the beginning of this year, Aero achieved the production rate of one aircraft per month.
The L-39 Skyfox continues the long-standing tradition of training aircraft produced by Omnipol partner company Aero Vodochody. In particular, the legendary training aircraft from Vodochody the L-29 Delfín and the L-39 Albatros went down in aviation history, not only as one of the most widely used training aircraft in the world, but also their very names Delfín and Albatros became military aviation icons. Now is the right time for the state-of-the-art training aircraft to take its turn and get its name, the L-39 Skyfox.
The L-39 Skyfox produced by AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE is a completely new generation of two-seater subsonic jet aircraft. It combines modern avionics systems, an extraordinary jet engine and excellent flight characteristics. The L-39 Skyfox is a versatile platform suitable for training, reconnaissance and combat missions.
