Vietnamese Pilots Successfully Complete Training on L-39 Skyfox Aircraft

Pilots of the Vietnamese Air Force have successfully completed their basic training on the new L-39 Skyfox aircraft, delivered to Vietnam by our company, OMNIPOL. The training programme included theoretical instruction, simulator sessions, and practical flights in the aircraft.

The pilots praised the aircraft for it’s excellent flight characteristics, advanced avionics, and reliability in the demanding climatic conditions of Southeast Asia. They are now preparing for advanced training focused on formation flying and combat scenarios.

“The successful completion of basic pilot training marks an important milestone in the contract for the delivery of 12 L-39 Skyfox aircraft to Vietnam,” said Jiří Podpěra, president of OMNIPOL. Company representatives were present in the country not only for the handover of the aircraft but also throughout the training process. They will continue to oversee the smooth execution of the contract in the coming months.

OMNIPOL delivered the first six aircraft to Vietnam in mid-2024, with the final units handed over in March this year.
